Global Sustainable Energy Provider Chooses Crisis24 to Provide Security Risk Management in Ukraine
11 Sep 2024

Wanting to remain committed to its goal of stabilizing the energy system throughout Europe by building wind farms in Ukraine, a global industry leader had reservations about resuming the construction of a windmill farm in Ukraine during an ongoing war. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine had halted construction on what was to be the largest wind power plant in the Mykolaiv region of southern Ukraine, 250 miles from Kyiv and just six miles from the Black Sea.
Addressing Security Concerns with a Tailored Risk Mitigation Plan
Company executives at the global energy company realized that while a comprehensive risk mitigation plan was central to its ability to move forward with the construction and mitigate the loss of revenue due to the temporary shutdown, it lacked the internal resources to deliver the plan. With over 55 years of experience and risk and crisis management consultants around the world, Crisis24 was selected to provide an in-depth and bespoke security evaluation and risk management plan.
Comprehensive Security Solutions for Safe Operations
The end-to-end plan began with an evaluation of the client’s risk tolerance, risk appetite, and risk capacity, included a journey management plan to manage the safety and security of the client’s executive and security personnel arriving in Ukraine to assess several locations and moved to an on-going security monitoring plan once construction resumed.
To support all movement in Ukraine, Crisis24’s journey management services included close protection, secure ground transportation, access to safe houses, and medical assistance if required. To monitor and coordinate all movements and keep relevant stakeholders informed of changes and developments of potential threats in the area, Crisis24’s team maintained constant communication with its Global Operations Center (GOC) – a 24/7 operation committed solely to supporting on-the-ground clients and protectors around the clock.
Once the decision to continue construction was made, Crisis24 began providing security monitoring to ensure that all threats were identified and mitigated promptly, protecting the client’s assets, operations, and personnel in Ukraine. This includes monitoring surveillance systems, access control systems, and alarm systems and incorporates cybersecurity and environmental monitoring as well.
In an expanding global economy, the ability to operate successfully in high-risk areas relies on a firm understanding of a company’s risk tolerance and its ability to achieve business continuity. Explore how Crisis24 can strengthen your organizational resilience and help you prepare for any risk.
