Barend Botes - Watch Operations Manager

Barend joined Crisis24 as a Watch Operations Manager in January 2023 after serving 24 years in the South African Army. During his military service, he served in numerous intelligence and counterintelligence postings and completed border safeguarding, crime prevention, and other intelligence-focused operations in South Africa, as well as several peacekeeping operations in other African countries. Barend ended his military career at the end of 2022 as an intelligence officer with the rank of Major. In his free time, he enjoys visiting museums and places of historic significance, as well as hiking, reading, and watching movies with his lovely wife.
