Italy: Minor bombing in central Rome May 12

Event

An explosion occurred in central Rome on the morning of Friday, May 12, near a post office on Marmorata Street. According to initial reports, a rudimentary explosive device, e.g. a parcel or letter bomb, was placed between two cars. No injuries have been reported. The area is located near a stop for shuttles to Rome-Fiumicino International Airport (FCO).

Firemen, police, and the bomb squad are at the blast site, which has been cordoned off.
