Informational

Event

The Workers Union of Porto Metropolitan Region (STTAMP) announced on Wednesday, September 6, that an ongoing strike has been called off following the opening of negotiations with TAP Air Portugal. Additional strikes may take place if talks between the union and the airline fail.

Context

TAP Air Portugal staff had planned to stage a series of two-hour strikes every day, between 12:00 and 14:00 (local time), starting Tuesday, September 5, through to Thursday, October 5, at Porto International Airport (OPO), otherwise known as Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport.

Unions representing TAP staff claim the strikes aimed to denounce the deteriorating relationship between workers as well as concerns over working hours.

Advice

Travelers are advised to confirm the status of their flights and to contact their airline for further information.
