A mass power outage is ongoing in the city of Montréal as of the morning of Tuesday, October 24. According to Hydro-Québec, the local power company, 275,000 people have been affected. The outage was caused by a severed power line, which has now been repaired. Services are expected to progressively return to normal within an hour - i.e. by 10:30 (local time).
