Protest to denounce construction of thermoelectric plant in Valparaíso December 27; avoid all protests

A protest organized by indigenous and environmental groups to denounce the construction of the Los Rulos thermoelectric plant is set to take place in Valparaíso on Wednesday, December 27. The gathering is scheduled to begin at 15:30 (local time) in front of the Valparaiso Regional Administrative building (Intendencia Regional de Valparaiso).
More than 4000 demonstrators took part in a related protest held in Villa Alemana on December 3; a similar-sized or larger crowd is possible on Wednesday. Clashes between protesters and police cannot be ruled out.
