France: Orange alerts for flooding (north), snow (east) Feb. 5 /update 3
Orange weather alerts in effect for Seine flooding (north) and snow and ice (center-east) February 5
Event
As of Monday, February 5, various departments across France are under orange weather alerts (the second highest on a four-tier scale) for flooding and snow in the north and center-east, respectively.
Heavy snow and ice warnings are in effect in the following center-eastern departments: Ain, Allier, Ardèche, Cantal, Drôme, Gard, Isère, Loire, Haute-Loire, Nièvre, Lozère, Puy-de-Dôme, Saône-et-Loire, and Rhône.
Additionally, high water levels in the Seine River continue to prompt flood warnings in the following northern departments: Seine-Maritime, Eure, Val-d'Oise, Yvelines, Paris, Seine-et-Marne, Marne, and Aube. In Paris, a number of stations on the RER C commuter rail line - Saint-Michel Notre-Dame, Musée d'Orsay, Invalides, Pont de l'Alma, Champ de Mars, Avenue du Président Kennedy, and Boulainvilliers - will remain closed until at least February 9.
