Construction worker strike launched April 18 continues as of April 23; associated protests possible

An indefinite strike launched by the Suntracs and Capac construction unions April 18 continues as of Monday, April 23. The Suntracs union has threatened to intensify the strike beginning on Monday. Marches by striking workers and associated roadblocks are thus possible in the coming hours and days.
A general assembly of striking workers is planned for April 30 in the capital Panama City’s Porras Park.
