Political rallies expected in Barbados May 14; localized traffic congestion expected around gathering sites

Political meetings and rallies are expected to be held in Barbados on the evening of Monday, May 14 (local time). The Barbados Labour Party (BLP) is expected to hold meetings at several locations at 19:00. The Democratic Labour Party (DLP) is also planning to hold meetings at 19:30 at several different locations. Context
Prime Minister Freundel Stuart has announced that parliamentary elections will be held on May 24. Political campaigning began on May 7. The Barbadian parliament has been dissolved since March 6, following the end of its five-year tenure. While the dissolution occurred as scheduled, political tensions increased in the country following the dissolution as no election date was quickly chosen.
