Mexico: Aviation authorities ground Aerolíneas Damojh

Mexico’s General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics announced on Monday, May 21, that Aerolíneas Damojh’s operating license would be temporarily suspended, effective immediately, pending an investigation into the airline. Officials ordered the investigation after a plane operated by the company crashed in Havana (Cuba) on May 18, killing 111 people. As such, no Aerolíneas Damojh flights will operate to or from Mexico until further notice.

According to aviation officials, the airline was also forced to suspend operations in 2010 and 2013 due to safety violations.
