Italy: Transportation disruptions nationwide June 7-8 due to strikes /update 1

Various transportation sector strikes are set to take place in Italy on Thursday, June 7, and Friday, June 8. Air traffic controllers will strike nationwide between 13:00 and 17:00 (local time) on Friday, as will ground staff at Bologna Guglielmo Marconi International Airport (BLQ) and cabin crews at Air Italy and Blue Panorama Airlines. Flight delays and cancelations are to be anticipated at airports across the country during and following this four-hour period.

Furthermore, rail-sector employees at FSI (a group that oversees the country's rail network), Trenord (the company that operates regional passenger trains in the Lombardy region), and NTV (a privately-run high-speed train operator) will be on strike nationwide from 22:00 on June 7 to 06:00 on June 8. On June 8, strikes will also affect Rome's ATAC and Roma Tpl. public transportation networks from 08:30 to 12:30, Verona's public transportation network from 17:00 to 21:00, and Turin's transportation network for the entire day.
