Russia: Court issues suspended sentence for criticizing President Putin

A Russian man received a two-year suspended sentence and three years of probation from a court in Tver on Tuesday, June 5, after he was convicted of “inciting extremism” online. He is also banned from moderating online forums. The man was accused of extremism in 2016 after posting anti-corruption reports and anti-Putin articles on social media.
