South Korea: Typhoon to cross the country June 29 to July 2 /update 1
Typhoon Prapiroon expected in the south between June 29 and July 2; monsoon rains throughout the country
Event
The South Korean meteorological authorities have issued warnings as Typhoon Prapiroon approaches the south of the country; the alerts are currently set to remain in effect from Friday, June 29, through Monday, July 2. The typhoon is expected to first hit Jeju Island before moving along the western coast of the mainland to Seosan. Heavy rain and strong winds, and associated flooding and damages, are forecast for much of the country. Stormy conditions due to a separate weather system are also forecast for the south of the country (e.g. Mokpo and Chinhae) on July 2.

Individuals in affected areas are advised to follow all instructions as issued by local authorities. Remember that driving or walking through running water can be dangerous; 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock an adult over.
