A nationwide by teachers launched on June 18 to demand better work conditions continues in some parts of the country as of Tuesday, July 3. Participation rates have been relatively low, with only some 4 percent of students affected nationwide on July 2. The highest participation rates were recorded in the provinces of Huancavelica, Apurimac, Puno, and San Martín. Associated protests are likely throughout the duration of the strike, notably in the above areas. An increased security presence and clashes are possible in the vicinity of any gatherings.
