A nationwide by teachers launched on June 18 to demand better work conditions came to an end on Tuesday, July 3, to facilitate negotiations. As such, normal conditions in schools are to be anticipated from July 4, and associated protests should be suspended until further notice. Further teacher strikes and protests are possible, however, if negotiations are not successful.

Context

Participation were relatively low, notably towards the end of the strike, with only some 4 percent of students affected nationwide on July 2. The highest participation rates were recorded in the provinces of Huancavelica, Apurimac, Puno, and San Martín.
