Local residents stormed the Gozamen Hotel in the town of Debre Markos (Amhara region) on Wednesday, July 11, where a individual loyal to the former government suspected of trying to derail the new Ethiopian prime minister's reforms was believed to be staying. Although security forces were deployed to the area to quell the violence, further unrests was reported on July 12.
