Sweden: Rail disruptions August 8-10 due to heatwave

Rail disruptions are to be anticipated in southern Sweden (Götaland) from Wednesday, August 8, through at least Friday, August 10, due to safety concerns amid an ongoing heatwave. Services on several routes - e.g. Kalmar-Linköping, Nässjö-Vetlanda, Jönköping-Vaggeryd, and Värnamo-Landeryd - have been suspended August 8-10. Trains on the following routes have been suspended for at least August 8: Herrljunga-Borås, Borås-Varberg, Uddevalla-Strömstad, and Håkanstorp-Gårdsjö.

Temperatures in these areas are expected to reach as high as 34°C (93°F).
