Chile: Nationwide teachers' strike August 28

The National Assembly of the College of Teachers has called for a nationwide strike to take place on Tuesday, August 28. According to union representatives, the strike is being organized to demand better working conditions in classrooms as well as education reforms. Demonstrations are also possible, notably  in Santiago, during the strike. A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are anticipated in the vicinity of any gatherings.
