Stabbing attack in Trappes (southwestern Parisian region) morning of August 23; police operation underway, avoid the area

A stabbing attack began at around 09:30 (local time) on Thursday, August 23, on a street in the town of Trappes, located some 25 km (15 mi) west-southwest of Paris. One person was reportedly killed and another two were injured by what appears to be a lone assailant. A police operation is underway and a security perimeter has been established on Camille Claudel Street.
