Singapore: New regulations considered for PMDs users

On September 4, the Government agreed to follow recommendations for safer path sharing between personal mobility device (PMD) users and cyclists. The most important recommendations are: speed limit reduced on footpaths for personal mobility device (PMD) users and cyclists from 15 km/h (9 mph) to 10 km/h (6 mph); the mandatory use of helmets when riding on roads; PMD users and cyclists must "stop and look" out for vehicles at road crossings. Those suggestions are to be implemented in early 2019.

As a reminder, to comply with local regulations, foreign nationals living in Singapore for more than 1 year or becoming permanent residents are compelled to obtain a Singaporean driving licence for driving vehicles in the City-State.
