Around 100 people gathered in Odessa (Odessa oblast) on Sunday, September 23, to protest an assassination attempt targeting activist Oleg Mikhailyk the day before. Protesters gathered in front of the General Directorate of National Police building at 14:00 (local time) on Sunday to protest the police's alleged role of abetting the attack and demand the resignations of the chief of the Odessa regional police and the public prosecutor; a similar demonstration is expected to take place at 16:00 on Monday, September 24 in front of the same building. A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are to be expected near the demonstration site.
