Internet blocked as soldiers protest in Addis Ababa to demand better salaries October 10

Hundreds of soldiers protested in the capital Addis Ababa on Wednesday, October 10, to demand a salary raise and a reform of military operations. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has promised that their demands will be met; however, further protests are possible in the coming days if this does not come to pass in a timely fashion. Furthermore, the internet was blocked for nearly three hours during the protest to prevent the circulation of "fake news."
