Chad: Gas shortages in N’djamena since early October

Gas shortages ongoing in the capital N'djamena since early October continue as of Tuesday, October 16. The shortages have been attributed to a misunderstanding between the government and Chinese nationals managing the N'djamena Refinery Company, which prompted Chinese technicians to stop production for several days. According to the government, the issues should be resolved shortly. However, if this is not the case, unrest may erupt in the capital.

Individuals in the country should try to stock up on gas where possible to do so. Should scuffles erupt at gas stations, remove yourself as quickly and safely as possible.
