Saudi meteorological officials forecast moderate-to-heavy rains for Eastern Province, Mecca region, Al-Baha region, and Asir region on Monday, October 22. Rainfall reportedly resulted in flooding in low-lying areas of Eastern Province, including in the cities of Dammam, Al-Khobar, Dhahran, Qatif, Al-Hofuf, and Jubail. Traffic disruptions were reported. Storms have also been forecast for parts of the regions of Mecca, Al-Baha, and Asir through Monday night (local time). Further rainfall is forecast in Saudi Arabia over the coming days, which may lead to further flooding. Associated transportation and business disruptions are to be expected in affected areas.

Individuals in affected regions are advised to keep abreast of weather alerts, confirm travel reservations, and adhere to any instructions issued by the local authorities. Remember that walking or driving through running water can be dangerous - 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult.
