Uganda: Security operation ongoing in Kampala

Security forces launched patrols in the capital Kampala and surrounding areas on Wednesday, November 7, to address rising insecurity. The patrols, including nightly foot patrols from 21:00 (local time), will continue until further notice. Checkpoints, searches, and arrests are to be anticipated, notably in the Nansana, Kasubi, Kireka, and Namugongo districts.

Protests against the operations may occur.

Individuals in Kampala are advised to monitor development to the situation, abide by instructions issued by the security forces, and avoid all gatherings as violence may flare up without warning.
