Cameroon: Flight suspensions likely at Yaoundé Airport from November 15

Flight suspensions due to security concerns at Yaoundé International Airport likely from November 15

Warning

Event

The US Embassy in Cameroon announced on November 9 that several major airlines would likely stop operating flights to and from Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport (NSI) from Thursday, November 15, until further notice. The threatened suspension comes amid a reported inability of various airlines to reach an agreement with the Cameroonian civil aviation authorities over security screening procedures. The embassy has advised travelers to fly instead to Douala International Airport (DLA).

Advice

Travelers are advised to contact their airlines for more information and monitor the situation via media outlets.
