The Nepalese government has reportedly banned the use and possession of Indian currency notes of Rs 2,000, Rs 500 and Rs 200 on Friday, December 14. The directive issued by the Ministry of Communications and Information also indicates the use and possession of Indian Rs 100 notes remains legal. Indian bank notes have been widely circulated in Nepal for several years for trade and employment purposes.
