Environment Canada issued a winter storm warning for snowfall in southern Ontario, southern Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island provinces on Tuesday, February 12. The winter storm is forecast to bring snowfall totals of 15-25 cm (6-10 in) in the Toronto metropolitan area (Ontario), 30-40 cm (12-16 in) in Ottawa (Ontario), between 25-40 cm (10-16 in) in Montreal (Quebec), and up to 40 cm (16 in) in Saint Stephen (New Brunswick). High winds and winter weather conditions, including freezing rain and snow, are also expected in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
Transportation disruptions, including flight delays and cancelations, are to be expected, particularly at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL), and Ottawa International Airport (YOW). Adverse driving conditions, including slick roads and limited visibility, are also possible. Power and telecommunications disruptions cannot be ruled out.
