Demonstrations planned in Berlin, other cities on April 6 to denounce sharp rise in rent prices; heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions expected

Civil society groups and neighborhood organizations are planning to stage a demonstration in Berlin on Saturday, April 6, to denounce a perceived sharp increase in rent prices and other housing issues. Protesters are expected to gather at Alexanderplatz at 12:00 (local time) and march to Schlesischer Busch via the following locations (see map):
- Strausberger Platz (around 13:30)
- Weberwiese (around 14:00)
- Warschauer Straße (S-Bahn station around 15:00)
- Oberbaumbrücke (around 15:30)
- Treptow Arena (around 16:00)
Additional demonstrations are expected in other urban areas on Saturday, including in Stuttgart. A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are to be anticipated near demonstration sites.
