Warning

Event

A demonstration is slated to take place in Odessa (Odessa province) on Thursday, May 2, amid the fifth anniversary of fatal clashes between pro-Ukraine and pro-Russia activists. A commemorative gathering will reportedly begin at 16:00 (local time) at Kulykove Pole. Local officials have announced traffic restrictions on roads surrounding Kulykove Pole and Soborna Square as more than 2000 police and national guard troops will be deployed for the demonstration.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are to be expected in central Odessa on Thursday. Clashes between police and demonstrators cannot be ruled out.
