Iraq: Gunmen kill nine members of police in Kirkuk province May 15-16

Unidentified gunmen killed nine members of the Iraqi Federal Police in two separate attacks in Hawija district (Kirkuk province) late (local time) on Wednesday, May 15, into early Thursday, May 16. The first attack, on Wednesday evening, reportedly targeted a police vehicle in the village of Riyadh; the second attack, carried out early Thursday morning, targeted police near the town of Rashad, according to security sources.
