Various Ukrainian LGBT groups are holding various Pride events in Kyiv from Tuesday, June 18, through Sunday, June 23, to support equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex people. The key event, March for Equality, will be held on Sunday, June 23, and will begin at 09:00 (local time). Organizers are expecting 10,000 participants at the march.
Heightened security measures and associated traffic disruptions are expected around all Pride Week events. Counter-protests by conservative elements are also possible during the celebrations.
