Iraq: Heightened security around Bahrain embassy in Baghdad June 28
Heightened security expected in the vicinity of the Bahrain embassy in Baghdad as of June 28 following violent protest on June 27

A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of the Bahrain embassy located in the Mansour district of Baghdad on Friday, June 28, after protesters stormed the embassy on Thursday, June 27.
On Thursday, protesters gathered outside the embassy to denounce the Bahrain Conference held in Manama on June 25-26. Some protesters were able to get access to the Embassy courtyard, lowered the Bahraini flag and raised the Iraqi and Palestinian flags. They also burned the American and Israeli flags. Security forces reportedly fired warning shots with live rounds to disperse the protestors. No injuries were reported. Bahrain has recalled its Ambassador following the incident.
