Warning

Event

A rocket-propelled grenade attack targeted the 112 TV channel building in Kyiv early (local time) on Saturday, July 13, resulting in material damages but no casualties. The attack comes after Ukrainian nationalists had threatened the TV station's journalists; Russian-sympathetic Opposition Platform party member Taras Kozak reportedly owns a majority stake in the TV station, and supporters of former President Viktor Yanukovich are often featured on the station's programming. Police were investigating the incident as an "act of terrorism."

Similar attacks are possible in Kyiv over the coming days ahead of the July 21 parliamentary election.
