An unidentified armed assailant reportedly shot and wounded a Belarusian diplomat in Ankara on Wednesday evening (local time), July 24. The victim, identified the undersecretary of administrative affairs at the Belarusian Embassy, was targeted by the attacker outside the embassy building as part of a "long-standing feud." Police indicated the assailant, who took his own life, may have been mentally unstable. 

A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are likely in the abovementioned area over the coming hours.
