Nicaragua: Students to stage protest in Managua July 25

Various student groups are slated to stage a protest march in Managua on Thursday, July 25, to mark this year's National Student Day, typically celebrated on July 23. Although authorities have not authorized the demonstration, students are expected to gather at the Jean Paul Genie roundabout at 14:00 (local time) and proceed to the Centroamérica roundabout. 

Associated transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence are expected in the vicinity of the protests. Clashes between demonstrators and security forces cannot be ruled out.
