Venezuela: New travel advisory issued by the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention

On August 7, the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its Venezuela travel advisory, advising its citizens to avoid all nonessential travel to the country as Venezuela is "experiencing outbreaks of infectious diseases, and adequate health care is currently not available in most of the country." CDC warns of a breakdown of the medical infrastructure in the country, as well as shortages of food, water, electricity, medicine, and medical supplies.
