Several blasts struck a position held by the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) near Balad Air Base (Saladin province), north of Baghdad, on Tuesday, August 20. The Iraqi Civil Defense reported that the aerial bombardment struck a munitions warehouse, resulting in multiple casualties. Witnesses indicated that the blasts resulted in debris, including stored rockets, flying into Balad Air Base itself, although it was not immediately reported whether the explosions caused any significant damage to the base.
