Ecuador: Provincial strike planned in Carchi September 24

Carchi Province (north) leaders have called for a strike to begin on Tuesday, September 24, following the national government's failure to provide resources. As a result, the prefect and other regional leaders are calling for paralysis on roads throughout the province. Protests across the province, including roadblocks, are expected throughout the day.

Significant transportation and some commercial disruptions as well as a heightened security presence are expected in the region.
