Heavy rain, strong winds, and flooding possible in southeastern South Korea on October 1-2 as Severe Tropical Storm Mitga if forecast to move through the region

Severe Tropical Storm Mitga is forecast to make landfall through southeastern parts of South Korea from Tuesday, October 1, through Wednesday, October 2. The storm is expected to strengthen to a typhoon before hitting the Korean Peninsula, bringing heavy rain, violent winds, and strong storm surge to the region. Flooding, landslides, power outages, and transportation disruptions (including flight delays and cancelations) are also anticipated. As of the morning (local time) of Sunday, September 29, Mitga at approximately 18.0°N 127.5°E (map here) and is moving west-northwest at 18 kph (11 mph).
