Morocco: Teachers plan march in Rabat October 6

The National Teaching Federation has called for a march in Rabat on Sunday, October 6, to denounce new regulations for the sector, perceived as harming national free education by favoring private schooling. The march also aims at defending the right to demonstrate. Protesters are expected to gather at 10:00 (local time) at Bab Elhad before heading to the Ministry of Education, and then to Parliament.

Heightened security measures and localized traffic disruptions are expected along the march route. Clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out.
