Lebanon: Communist Party plans march in Beirut October 20

The Lebanese Communist Party has called for a march in Beirut on October 20; heightened security presence and associated disruptions expected

The Lebanese Communist Party is planning a march in Beirut on Sunday, October 20, to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the party. Participants are due to gather from 11:00 (local time) at three different meeting points, including: Barbir Square, in front of the Banque du Liban in Hamra, and in front of the electricity company in Mar Mikhael, before gathering at the Riad Solh Square.

A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are expected along the march route.
