South Korea: Railway workers end strike November 25 /update 3

Railway workers are to end their nationwide strike on November 25; residual delays are expected in the coming days

The Korean Railway Workers' Union announced on Monday, November 25, that it will end its indefinite nationwide strike as the union reached a deal on pay raise and better working conditions with Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) management.

Striking workers returned to work at around 09:00 (local time) on Monday, and Bullet KTX trains are scheduled to resume services on Tuesday, November 26. Residual disruptions are likely in the coming days. 

Context

Around 11,500 members of the Korean Railway Workers' Union launched an indefinite strike on November 20 to demand that KORAIL hires 4000 additional staff and to demand a four percent basic salary increase.
