A 6.0-magnitude earthquake hits Arica on December 3; no tsunami warning issued

The US Geological Survey recorded a 6.0-magnitude earthquake off the coast of Arica (Arica region) on Tuesday, December 3, at 05:46 (local time) at a depth of 32 km (20 mi). The earthquake occurred about 37 km (23 mi) west southwest of Arica.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or significant infrastructure damage, and no tsunami warning was issued.
Aftershocks are possible in the affected area over the coming hours and days.
