Somalia: Al-Shabaab claims responsibility for suicide car bombing January 18 /update 1

Event

Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack that took place on Saturday, January 18, in Afgooye, about 25 km (15 mi) northwest of Mogadishu. At least three people were killed, and several others wounded after a suicide attacker detonated a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED). The blast reportedly targeted Turkish engineers and contractors in the area. Details are still emerging.
