Protest scheduled in Beirut on July 14 against state-owned electricity company; avoid all demonstrations

A protest has been scheduled in the Mar Mikhael neighborhood of Beirut on Tuesday, July 14. Participants of the protest are scheduled to gather at approximately 11:00 (local time) outside the state-owned Electricite Du Liban. The demonstration is being held to protest against the ongoing nationwide power outages in the country. Previous related demonstrations resulted in low-level scuffles between protesters and security forces.

The event is expected to be well attended and localized traffic disruptions should be anticipated in the vicinity of the protest.
