Several rockets are reported to have been fired into Kabul's diplomatic district on Tuesday, August 18. The rockets, which are believed to have been fired from two vehicles prepositioned in Kabul's Police Districts (PD) 17 and 8, are reported to have landed in multiple locations, including the Wazir Akbar Khan (PD10), Sherpor (PD2), 1st Macroyan (PD16) and Shashdarak (PD10) areas. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks. Further information is awaited regarding damages and casualties caused by the incident, although local sources stated that several people had been wounded.

There remains a possibility of secondary attacks in the city in the near term.
