Canada: Demonstration scheduled in Montreal for September 26

An activist group has called for a demonstration in Montreal on Saturday, September 26, to demand that the government takes steps to make Canada a carbon-neutral country, as well as give migrants resident status, among other demands. The demonstration is scheduled to start at 13:00 (local time) at Place du Canada and is anticipated to be well attended.

The demonstration is expected to remain peaceful, but a heightened police presence and localized disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the gathering.
