Lebanon: Demonstration to take place in Beirut October 7

Demonstrators are set to gather in Beirut on Wednesday morning, October 7, to denounce the military trial of anti-government activist Khaldoun Jaber. Several activist organizations have called for a solidarity demonstration at 09:00 (local time) outside the Military Tribunal Court. The defendant has been charged with allegedly defaming the military as well as participating in violent disturbances during anti-government demonstrations.

A heightened security presence and associated disruptions should be anticipated at all protests.
