Turkey: Security forces kill suspected militants in Iskenderun (Hatay province) amid blast October 26 /update 1

Security forces killed at least two militants during clashes in Iskenderun (Hatay province) on Monday, October 26, during which a large blast occurred. Reports suggest that clashes broke out after the suspects were pursued after being identified at a checkpoint. In the subsequent fighting, one of the militants is believed to have detonated an explosive device in the vicinity of Fener Street; however, this has not been confirmed. Although a number of people sustained minor injuries from shattered glass, no other fatalities beyond the militants have been reported. Emergency services are continuing to respond to the scene.
